On 21th November 2013 at Prince of Songkla University Phuket Campus (PSU), Phuket Governor – Maitree Intusut presided over the opening of ACM-ICPC Asia Phuket Regional Programming Contest 2013. Joining Khun Maitree at the event were with Dr Udomphon Puetpaiboon – Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, PSU Phuket, Khun Pracha Asawateera – Deputy Manager SIPA Phuket and a total of 67 teams of students from universities from 10 Asian countries.
Dr Udomphon said “This competition sees teams, consisting of three students, will be required to solve 10 or 11 mathematical problems on computers in a five hour time limit, with no use of calculators or any other electronic devices or storages. The contest aims to develop creativity and innovation in building the new software program and allow students to test their capacity to perform under high time pressure.”
