Award-Winning Singer to perform at Phuket Regatta Closing Party Paul Ewing, award-winning singer-songwriter from Scotland (UK) and Artist Ambassador for the world’s largest children’s charity, World Vision UK, will perform at the closing party of the 2013 Phuket  King’s Cup Regatta on Friday 6th December 2013 at 7 pm, at Kata Beach Resort  & Spa. This special performance marks the final day of racing and subsequent award presentation, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display and high-energy closing party attended by over 1000 sailors, VIPs and guests.

Paul’s appearance will be his first at the Phuket  King’s Cup Regatta, a sailing event which is renowned for offering exceptional musical entertainment, great food and warm hospitality as part of its series of beachside parties. Regatta week comprises five nightly parties following the ocean-top action held at three popular resorts in the South-west of Thailand; Kata Beach Resort  & Spa (Monday 2 December), Kan Aeng@Pier (Tuesday 3 December), Kata Beach Resort & Spa (Wednesday 4 December), Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa (5 December) and Kata Beach Resort & Spa (Friday 6 December).

Paul Ewing, an artist described by Marcella Detroit as a “modern day Marvin Gaye,” has enjoyed considerable success in Thailand. In 2012, Paul was commissioned to write the Birthday Song for His Majesty the King of Thailand, entitled “Love Eternally.” His Grammy Award-winning teams were again involved in production for this tribute song, and Paul was also invited to sing at the prestigious New Year’s Countdown Concert at Central World, Bangkok to an audience of 100,000 people – broadcast across the whole of Thailand on all major television networks.

Paul will be supported by his band, which comprises Luke Smith, a Yamaha-sponsored keyboard player; Mike Brown, a guitarist who performed with George Michael at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games; Clint Williams, bassist, who has played session for a number of UK pop stars; and Kevin Biddle, Bangkok resident and current session drummer for The Voice Thailand.
