On 11th July 2013 at Phuket Merlin Hotel, Phuket Provincial Employment Office held the 5th 2013 Phuket Job Fair aimed at solving the island’s unemployment problems and easing the situation with regards to a shortage of workers. It was also an opportunity for those who have recently lost their jobs and students, new graduates and the general public to apply directly with companies for employment. The job fair provided a total of 5,289 job vacancies in various industries.
Khun Puang Songnam from Phuket Provincial Employment Office said “The businesses which are in great demand for employees include hotels & restaurants, shopping malls, hospitals, real estate, car sales and finance. The positions which have been available at the 5th Phuket Job Fair include hotel services, sales, electrical engineers maintenance engineers, cashiers and drivers.”
