Phuket PAO organise Children’s Day CelebrationsOn January 11th 2014, Phuket’s main National Children’s Day celebrations were opened by Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut. Also present at the event were PPAO Chief Executive – Paiboon Upattising, PPAO executives, PPAO Council members, officials, staff, schoolteachers, parents, children and young people. The celebration, organized by PPAO, took place at Phuket Provincial Hall.

In his opening speech, Mr. Paiboon said of the celebration: “At PPAO, we take our responsibility towards children and young people very seriously. Therefore, we attempt are always attempting to create ways to develop children’s knowledge base and create strong bonds between children and adults. We hope that activities provided during this celebration will inspire young people to think and apply the knowledge not only for themselves but also for their families, society and the nation.

Phuket PAO organise Children’s Day CelebrationsThis celebration aims to provide space for children to show off their talents through activities, games and sports. There is free food and drink, along with prizes for all children who have participated. We have been given support by many sectors such as Phuket Provincial Office, PPAO executives and council members, Phuket Primary Education Office, Phuket Cultural Center, Center of Non-Formal Education, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Academy, Phuket Vocational College, Phuket Polytechnic College, Phuket Public Health Office, PPAO Hospital, PPAO schools, teachers, parents, students and relevant sectors, who I am very grateful to.”

Phuket PAO organise Children’s Day CelebrationsMr. Maitri added: “I thank all parties who have helped make this celebration happen. I also wish all the children happiness, progress, healthy bodies, good spirits and intelligence, and hope they behave within the accepted society framework and prove themselves valuable additions to our society.”

Phuket Provincial Hall, the venue of the celebration, was transformed into a ‘magnificent land of fun.’ Activities included games like ‘Opening doors for Thai children to ASEAN, and prize giving by Phuket Cultural Center and Phuket Thailand Professional Women’s Association. Along with the games, shows, and activity booths, there were performances by PPAO Chief Executive and Council Members and an appearance by a famous movie star Nun Woranut Wongsawan.
