A press conference for Phuket Bike Week 2014 was held last week at Royal Phuket City Hotel in Phuket Town. The conference was chaired by Phuket Governor – Maitri Inthusut, and featured a panel consisting of PPAO Deputy Chief Executive – Soratham Jinda, who was acting on behalf of PPAO Chief - Paiboon Upattising, Phuket Thailand Sports Center Director – Wirat Pathi, TAT Director – Anoma Wongyai, Phuket City Deputy Mayor – Kawee Tansuktanon, and Phuket Bike Week organizer – Wittaya Singkala.
Phuket Bike Week 2014, also known as “ASEAN RIDE TOGETHER,” will take place between April 11 and 14, at Loma Public Park in Patong, and on April 18 – 19, at the main stage at Sapan Hin in Phuket Town. Phuket Bike Week is an annual event participated by hundred of bikers from all over the world. It aims to put Phuket at the forefront of Asian and international communities of big bikers. Coinciding with the Songkran festival, the event will also showcase traditional aspect of Thai culture where attending tourists and bikers can take part in the water festival during April 13 – 15.
There will be an extravagant opening ceremony to welcome the bikers, sumptuous dinners for foreign leaders and VIP guests, concerts performed by many well-known Thai and international bands (including Carabao, Hin Lek Fire, Kob Taxi, etc), big bikes shows from all dealers, events to promote safe riding, bikers games, bike contest, vintage cars, customized car and bike contests, tattoo and body paint contest, Miss Phuket Bike Week pageant, live entertainment, prize draws, environment and coral conservation activities, an international bike parade going through Phuket Old Town and Patong, and other activities aimed to raise money for charity organizations.
