On July 4th 2014, Phuket Tourist Association (PTA) held its annual meeting to select its Board of Directors as at the Metropole Hotel Phuket. PPAO Chief Executive – Paiboon Upattisng was invited to join the selecting committee together with Nimit Kankajit from Phuket Commercial Development and Jutharat Nilahat, PR from Phuket Tourist Authority of Thailand. The meeting was chaired by the 2012 – 2014 President Ponganan Suwannakan.
The new Board selected for 2014 – 2016 were: Satirapong Na Takuatung, Sarayut Mullam, Thanatip Kianpotiramat, Attananon Huangtanapan, Ratanada Chubal, Ransiman Kingkeo, Jirachai, Nanthida Atiset, Phumikit Raktaengam, Sirikul Ammaramorn, and Phurit Maswongsa.
Commending the works of PTA, Mr Paiboon said that the association has always been a key player in the growth of tourism in Phuket. Its Board of Directors has been looking after its new members and Wichit Na Ranong who is one of the most important figures in tourist industry. He ended by wishing the new Board success and pledged the usual cooperation from PPAO.
Mr Phurit Maswongsa thanked PPAO who have supported the PTA financially through the Phuket Province Tourist Industry Development Office. He also said that a request has been made to the National Council for Peace and Order for an additional fund injection of 6,000 M baht, which will be used for marketing and PR campaigns for Phuket’s tourism industry.
Mr Phurit ended by thanking PPAO, its long-time supporter and policy advisor. Representing the newly elected Board, he pledged to work hard in the next two years for the success of Phuket tourism.
