Khun Kobkarn said “I am quite satisfied by what I have seen and heard at this follow-up meeting today in terms how all the work going into the upcoming 4th Asian Beach Games has progressed, and it is clear that the island is more than prepared to host this great sporting event. But what is more pleasing is that I can see that a great part of Phuket’s community has contributed. This is so important as this is a global sporting event which is highly focused on Phuket. This event should bring a great deal of tourism to the island and I’m sure that the whole event will create a good image for Phuket. I also believe it will be a great stimulant for the economy and will create a good feeling for Thailand again.”
She also said that security measures for the event have been discussed with the police and relevant sectors and that the community should cooperate in helping to ensure the safety of the athletes and those who travel to watch the games. She could see that all sectors of involved have joined hands together to build a positive image for the island’s visitors.
