On Wednesday 29th October 2014, members of the FC Phuket Rawai Supporters club took 4 Rawai based Moken sea gypsy village kids to purchase school uniforms so that they could return to school again when the new term starts in November. The purchasing of the uniforms is part of the group’s Community charity programme where members donate 1000 THB every month which is donated to worthy causes and projects in the local community. Unfortunately, the kids had to stop their education as their families and carers couldn’t afford to buy them uniforms, and if you don’t have a uniform here you cannot go to school. The uniforms are currently in the process of being embroidered with kid’s and schools names.
In addition to purchasing the uniforms they also bought the kids books and pencils, Phuket FC shirts and their caretakers 3 wheeler motorbike roofs so the kid’s can be transported to school in the rainy season.
