After the Royal Flame of the 4th Asian Beach Games arrived in Phuket on November 10, a Flame torch run was held in Patong and Kathu Municipalities the following day at 11.00am, with Kathu Mayor, civil servants and officials lining up in front of the Kathu Pavilion to receive the Royal Flame that the Kathu sheriff had carried from Phuket City Hall.
The Royal Flame Procession included a leading car, a movable throne, a biking parade and a Flame torch running team. The run of the Flame celebration took place across Kathu District along Vichit Songkram Road in front of the Chit Chiew Phuket Shrine. The procession then turned left towards a traffic light junction at Ban Kettho heading for Ban Thungthong. There, Kathu councilors at different spots took turns carrying the Flame torch to run for celebration.
As the procession arrived on Pra Phuket Kaew Road, the Kathu Mayor handed the Royal Flame to Kamala Chief Executive of the Sub-district Administrative Organization, who carried the Flame to run towards the 100-Year Anniversary Chalerm Phrakiart Park in Kamala Sub-District before passing the Flame to Patong Deputy Mayor Boonma Chiebsap. The Flame was then carried for installation at the Phuket City Hall. On both sides of the street a Flame Procession took place, passers-by and Phuket people gave big applause to give a morale boost to the torch run participants. This marked a standing point of hosts Phuket to cheerfully welcome all Games participants from 43 countries. The Royal Flame will be next carried for a torch run celebration in Phuket Muang District.
