A ceremony was recently held to mark the conclusion of the Islamic Ethics Training Program 2014 which was held at the Phuket Merlin Hotel in Phuket Town. Mr Prasarn Sricharoen, academic from the Sheikhul Office Thailand presided over the event which was attended by officials from PPAO (Boonserm Suwannarathphoom, Jeerasak Tortip, Kraiwut Khumban, Ouiporn Sakultan), President of Phuket Islamic Ethnics Promotion Association – Parinya Prayadsap, Chair of Phuket Islamic Commission – Komol Dumlak, and distinguished guests.
The Islamic Training Program, organized by PPAO in collaboration with the Phuket Islamic Ethics Promotion Association and the Phuket Islamic Commission, was participated by more than 1,000 individuals including religious leaders, community leaders, heads of family, students, and young people. Twelve sessions, led by 12 speakers/instructors, were held every Sunday from April 5 – June 21, 2014 at the Muslim Wittaya Phuket School. The aims of the program are to increase knowledge of Islam among members of community so they can apply its principles in religious observance as well as to promote a sense of love and unity among all.
Mr Prasarn commended the Phuket Islamic Commission, the Phuket Islam Ethnics Promotion Association as well as PPAO for their commitment and financial support. It shows, he said, that the agencies concerned have a vision to improve the quality of lives of the local people. He also urged the participants to use the skills learned in their daily lives and wished them success.
