Rawai Municipality holds Road Safety & Crash Helmet Campaign In a campaign to raise road safety awareness among local youths and the general public, on 7th September 2014, Rawai Municipality held traffic code training courses for local youths at Nai Harn Monastery in Tambon Rawai. The event was hosted by Rawai Mayor Aroon Solot.

Rawai Municipality holds Road Safety & Crash Helmet Campaign Organized in collaboration with related government and NGO agencies – such as the Phuket Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Chalong Police, and Phuket Transport Office, the training course was aimed at local youths, members of the public as well as staff from ten companies operating in the area. The companies include Nai Harn Beach Condominium, local driving schools, nearby hotels and resorts, and Big C Center (Patong Branch), among others. Altogether 500 participants took part in the courses.

Rawai Municipality holds Road Safety & Crash Helmet Campaign Trainings subjects included highway codes, road manners, correct motorcycle riding techniques, etc. The main focus of the course though was on wearing crash helmets while riding as required by law. Speakers included Pol Lt Col Sathid Nurit, an Admin and Crime Control Inspector attached to Chalong Police Station who enlightens participants on traffic laws and punishments, while Kolyuth Jatutasi an officer from the Phuket Transport office, talked about road signs.

Rawai Municipality holds Road Safety & Crash Helmet Campaign Igor Protosov, MD of Nai Harn Beach Condominium (NBC) and a police volunteer, who has received awards for his public contributions three years running, highly commends the safety training program. His staff and himself took part in the training all day. To show appreciation, NBC, as well as other local companies, donated crash helmets to the public via the Rawai Municipality.

Rawai Municipality holds Road Safety & Crash Helmet Campaign To end the event in style, Rawai Mayor along with government officials, led a procession of motorbikes joined by course participants, to ride around the area. Needless to say, they were all wear crash helmets.

The road safety training will take place every year.
