On June 18th 2014, a meeting was held on English language curriculum development at the Regional Education 10 in Phuket Town. Advisor to Chief Executive – Samanasak Rattanasaenyanuparp and Chief Advisor – Boonserm Suwannarathphoom, led a team of PPAO officials (Ouiporn Sakultan – Director of Religious and Cultural Education; Pradit Saengchan – Chair of Council; Kraiwut Khumban – Council Secretary; and Council Members) to take part in the meeting.
The meeting, the second of the year, is part of the English language curriculum development project aimed at teaching English the “natural way.” During the first meeting, it was agreed that the task of curriculum development on Communication English would be handed over to Sukhothai Thammathirat University, under the leadership of Prof Dr Witayathorn Torkaew. The purpose of the second meeting was to review the teaching plan, and to discuss the planned establishment of an English Language Learning Center in Phuket. The agenda of the meeting included: scope of the project, site survey, feasibility study, building design, and operational plan development among others.
